Savvy & Chic beauty hub - salon (Naija Hair Can Grow) - review

Hi,

So I have been following naturalhairlistas and the "fro-gang" and "long hair people" on Instagram -rme from jealousy!!!!!!!!!!- and I didn't know Naija Hair Can Grow oh! until like last year when I stumbled on her blog after my much amebo-ing around the net.

Anyhoo...  I was inspired, seeing things with my eyes. Of course I knew the basics of hair care. I have always had good hair but I tend to get bored and cut it in styles. I had natural afro up until my SS1. I even started a journey with Nature's Gentle Touch Brand, Plot 209 Muri Okunola Victoria IslandLagos prior to blogs and Instagram- This salon's review has to be in another post. If you are not particular about sulphates and some items in your hair products, I can safely say this is a pretty decent! hair care brand. My hair was healthy when I used their  products. I had no complaints until I ate the apple like Eve. I started reading about hair growth and maintenance and some more and I wanted more. Call me Oliver.

So I do not want to bask in my femininity and derail from the purpose of this post! The Review of Savvy & Chic Salon.

Ambience:

I love the "feel" of the salon if you get what I mean! It kinda reminds me of "The Help" , yes I mean the movie. I won't say it is '

vintage' oh, it just reminds me of girly-ness and I love the smell of soap and Yankee candles:). You have to disregard the building it is in though because it is not the most fab and see the light people! see the light! I will not dwell on negatives, the only "comma" I had was the bathroom and hair- wash area but HEY! the service was good and my hair, fab. DUH! Have you seen her hair?

What I love THE MOST is that it does NOT have a television set in it! Okay pause! I know you may wonder what my problem is or where the entertainment will come from as you get your hair done. To each HIS own. I do not like the idea of a television set in a salon/spa/restaurant... maybe a cafe/ sports bar? ok, idea of another blog post lol... Seriously when I walk into a salon I want 100% focus on my hair. I don't want my stylist to scream and shout and let it all out or watch TELEMUNDO or african magic and perform things on my hair. nope! no no no! Girl or Boy, just focus.

HAIR & BUYS

If you are particular about hair care products then you should pay a visit. From Argan oils to coconut oils to rosemary oils, shea butter, you name it, I can go on and on... they are all available for purchase.

I did not take  pictures of my purchases except this because I found it in my bag at the time of this post, it just had to sparkle hehe I can be quite gay. Sorry I took the picture with a shaky webcam: I bought the infamous Savvy & Chic Satin cap that I am wearing now as I write this post. My print is blue with cute flowers on it. It is quite dreamy and let's be honest, really anything is better than that dreadful hair net and I have issues with tying scarfs as they come off always! like I don't know if I fight in my sleep. I bought two bottles of "China Glaze" nail polish which I am far from impressed with :( It reads "TEXTURE" so I don't know what that means, all I know is that both bottles of polish have bubbles or should I say stones? It just did not come out right and they went for N1,250 per bottle.  I bought a Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish  which I absolutely adore, well it is Sally. I bought the HAIR ELIXIR TRIGGER with Cayenne Pepper in Pina Colada flavour/scent! This, I am insanely excited about because it smells nice. I have tried it for four days straight... HMM... review for another day let me keep it up. However, right now I have hit the brakes on daily application and now use it every other day. I cannot wait to do a review! lastly I bought whipped shea butter in chocolate and fruity scoops YUM!

As for my Hair, I used a product I have not tried before, Vegetable glycerin. I went online and did some research and I am like omg "where have I been"? Now, my hair is really thick and this left my hair feeling very good as it absorbed it. I was very impressed with the way the stylist combed my hair! With precision and much care to avoid shedding. I am of the opinion that very few salons know how to comb/brush natural hair or any hair at all in Nigeria. If you have experienced this then you will be grateful to know that at the Savvy & Chic hub, they comb your hair with care to avoid shedding.

I hope this post was useful.

From my basin.
